Adjusted Reading Assignments

You will have one extra class period for each reading assignment this upcoming week. I wrote it out in detail below. Adjusted Reading Assignments: For class on Tuesday, Jan 16. Please read (or review) the assignment from Thursday, Jan 12. This assignment is listed as follows. Pre-class reading assignment: Plater, Environmental Law and Policy: Nature, Law, & Society (afterwards referred to as “Text”) Read Chapter 10, pages 419-432. Please pay careful attention to Tennessee Valley Authority v. Hiram Hill , pages 425-428. (Please note these page numbers are from Edition 5. You will need to read Chapter 10: Roadblock Statutory Strategies and the Endangered Species Act. Introduction (skip the Delaney Clause), A Fish, A Dam and ESA Section 7, and the lightly review the comments and questions. (Do not read another case after the TVA v. Hill Case). Official Text

Edition 4 of Plater's Environmental Law and Policy will be the official text of the class. The instructor will copy any different pages between Edition 4 and 5 on blackboard for student review.

Extra Credit Assignment

Attend an event for 10 extra credit points on a daily assignment. Wednesday, Jan 10, 2018 at 6 PM, Buckhannon Watershed Association, in Reemsnyder 331. Come learn about stream monitoring and other issues. Welcome to Mrs. Benjamin's Environmental Law & Policy Class, POL 328, at West Virginia Wesleyan College.
